Hi, it’s me, Rita. I write this blog. In mid-June I had a garden plot tilled by Quick Cuts: Affordable Lawn and Tree Care. It’s been doing great thanks to the rainfall.
The seeds I sowed: Straight-neck yellow squash, yellow wax beans, okra, Royal Burgundy beans (they are purple on the plant, then turn green when cooked) and kale. I unintentionally grew white summer squash and acorn squash in my compost pile.
I recently gave away many squash. There are more out there, but I can’t get to them without being swarmed by mosquitoes. They will even go for my eyes which is a deal breaker.
I saw this announcement on City of Freeport, IL City Hall’s Facebook page about the next mosquito spray date: Per the Stephenson County Health Department, Mosquito spraying will be on Thursday, because of rain, and Friday. If the rain stops, The spraying will start on Wednesday!
