Hi, this is Rita. I write and publish Stephenson County Spotlight. Going into the 4th year of Stephenson County Spotlight, one thing I aim to do is expand its circulation by seeking people who will commit to helping it reach more readers.
With that assistance I can spend more time getting around to the people, places, resources and events in Stephenson County, IL. That means I’ll be able to write and share more content with readers. If you can share posts via your social media you can help.
I created a new Facebook group, Friends of Stephenson County Spotlight, for members who are committed to helping others and building community by sharing blog posts from the Friends of Stephenson County Spotlight page.
The group is a bit different from other groups; the only thing members are required to do is click “Share” to share new and past posts that I add to the page. That’s it, just click to share when you see a post has been added. It’s that easy!
I share blog posts to my Facebook timeline, local Facebook groups, Twitter and Pinterest. There are social media share buttons at the bottom of each blog post here on WordPress for anyone who wants to share a post any time. Just click.
I’ve already added past SCS posts to the Friends of Stephenson County Spotlight page with community info that bears repeating all year round such as food pantries and public safety reminders.
Share it again: Sometimes people don’t see posts the first time they were published or didn’t need to know the information when they first saw it, so it’s good to re-circulate them.
Members of Friends of Stephenson County Spotlight will be first to hear about what I’m working on for the blog along with my personal charity work in the community. If you’ve read past blog posts, you know that along with being a writer and artist, I crochet and knit. I donate many hats, scarves and blankets in the fall and winter. They are greatly needed.
A couple things I have coming to the blog are contests and a call for crafters to donate warming items in the community. There are many local organizations that can use donations and volunteers throughout the year. You can discover them here.
If you enjoying helping people and would like to commit to sharing the information found on Stephenson County Spotlight, go to the Friends of Stephenson County Spotlight page on Facebook to join.
In order to have your membership request considered, you must answer a question to make sure you understand the purpose of the page. Just click on the hot pink highlighted and underlined link above to get started.
As always, thank you for reading and sharing Stephenson County Spotlight.
