The Salvation Army Community Kitchen serves a FREE community lunch Monday -Friday, 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. All are welcome!
The Salvation Army is located in downtown Freeport, 106 W. Exchange St. right across from the north side of the courthouse.
If you need groceries to take home, the food pantry is every Tuesday & Thursday 9-11 a.m., then again at 1-2 p.m. those same days.
Take a photo ID to have your order filled. Take a cart or someone to help you carry your food.
Please note that there will be a change in how often pantry orders can be filled. Before, you could receive a pantry order every 30 days, beginning August 1st it will be every 60 days. That means there will be a 60-day waiting period in between your visits to have your order filled.
Due to the high demand of people needing services, the pantry is low on canned goods. If you missed the recent drive-up nonperishable food collection and would like to donate food including dry goods, give them a call. If you have questions about donating food or your time as a volunteer, here’s the number: 815-235-7639.
The Salvation Army is open Mon-Fri from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
