April will mark Stephenson County Spotlight’s first anniversary. Let’s celebrate by letting other people in our virtual and offline communities know that there are lots of positive events and people in our area. You can find some here on Stephenson County Spotlight.
If you’ve followed along with Stephenson County Spotlight, you know that in addition to being a writer, I am a crafter and artist. On May 10th I went to Stephenson County Visitors Center to drop off crocheted items for the 2016 Spring Arts & Crafts/Farmers Market Expo. Details are at the end of this post.
I happened to catch two show participants who were dropping off their items. Jaala Hughes has two display cases of unique jewelry including earrings, necklaces, and bracelets.
I snagged a photo of Jenny next to her display of hair bows and accessories. You can see what else she makes on her Facebook page, JB Hair Accessories.
Gardening season will be coming up soon. Starter plants are available at the expo.
If you’re looking for gift items made by local artisans, the expo is the place to go.
There really is a lot of stuff out there that you have to see in person. I’ll show you more of what you can expect in a second post.
