What’s going on in Stephenson County, Illinois? The leaves have started changing into their fall colors. Fall is a great time to take outdoor photos. The orange and yellow tree leaves are starting to pop.
Something I would like to do on Stephenson County Spotlight is have readers participate in the generation of upbeat story ideas. It’d be cool to see views that I wouldn’t normally get around to capturing. Would you like to share photos you’ve taken around this area? Maybe share photos of football practice. That seems to be a popular fall sport.
Can you think of an upbeat personal event that would be uplifting to share with others? It doesn’t have to have a huge social impact, just personally meaningful and upbeat. It could be about a child getting a good grade on a test; a personal victory. Inspiring achievements by other human beings are always pretty wonderful to read about.
Going forward, I’d like to showcase individuals living in Stephenson County, not only small business owners. I’d like to give other local talent a place to share their abilities now that this blog is established and more well-known.
Promoting the blog requires mental and physical effort, offline and online, so I do appreciate it very much when others do some of that work. It’s as easy as clicking to share an article on your Facebook page.
Coming soon, I’ll be covering the 6-hour Mississippi River Writers conference at Freeport Public Library on Saturday, October 3rd for Stephenson County Spotlight.
If you’re someone who loves to write, contact me about submitting a short work of fiction or nonfiction to be published on this blog. I’d like to profile the author and introduce his or her submitted story. All ages welcome. Don’t worry about perfect grammar, I can do the editing and proofreading.
In the comment section below, feel free to leave suggestions for stories that you’d enjoy reading about on the blog. Questions?
