The heat was on high at the 8th annual Art in the Park event at Krape Park last weekend. Sweat poured from spectators and vendors alike. I took many photos, take a look.
Art in the Park was held on the Sunday before Labor Day, September 6th. This year was my fourth year in a row attending as a spectator. This 8th Art in the Park was the first time I documented it for Stephenson County Spotlight.
There was musical entertainment and two drum circle sessions that anyone could play in.
There were booths with creations that were cheerfully and tastefully displayed.
I spoke with a couple Freeport Art Museum teen volunteers who were fortunate to be sheltered from the sun. Fluttering paper fans were a common sight.
There were food vendors on site. In part two of this article, I’ll show you some of them and more of the arts & crafts booths, of course.
If you attended Art in the Park 2015 as a vendor or patron, share what you thought about it by leaving a comment below.
If you were a vendor and see your booth in the photos and would like for readers of Stephenson County Spotlight to be able to reach you, leave your website address and contact information in the comments.
