I attended the last day of Trinity United Methodist Church’s spring rummage sale on Saturday, April 18th. It was the $1 per bag day. I left with a bag of items that I purchased along with 4 bags of FREE items that a volunteer eagerly filled for me. In fact, he said, “Here, let me get you another bag” filling one after the other. While that nearly-comical encounter was happening, another helpful volunteer held my stuffed bag of purchased items before he carried it to my car.
As you can see in the photos, there was still plenty available to choose from. The more you take, the less that volunteers have to haul away afterward!
I spoke to the rummage sale organizer, Betty, who has been organizing the sale with her husband longer than she could remember offhand. Betty said, “It helps the community.” She also said that if someone is in need, they just give them the items. The church also donates bibles to the jail.
The sale had good attendance and there was good service provided by the volunteers. Did you go? Did you see yourself or someone you know in the photos? If so, leave a comment sharing what you thought about the rummage sale below.
There’ll be another rummage sale in the fall. I’ll let you know when I know so check back or follow Stephenson County Spotlight if you don’t want to miss it!
